Break Down the Walls
I stand before dark, gray walls,
Unable to move forward,
Hindered to take a step.
But not wanting to stay still,
Nor wanting to go back.
For behind these walls lies “life,”
Behind these walls lies “tomorrow”
A future so sweet.
So near yet so far.
Nevertheless, it’s mine for the taking.
So I will tear down these walls
With bare hands willed by hope.
How long will it take?
The answer, I don’t have.
But someday, I just know,
I’ll surely pass through these walls.
Unable to move forward,
Hindered to take a step.
But not wanting to stay still,
Nor wanting to go back.
For behind these walls lies “life,”
Behind these walls lies “tomorrow”
A future so sweet.
So near yet so far.
Nevertheless, it’s mine for the taking.
So I will tear down these walls
With bare hands willed by hope.
How long will it take?
The answer, I don’t have.
But someday, I just know,
I’ll surely pass through these walls.
